FROM ABOVE

english version by Axel H. Lenn

Day to day occurrences are unpredictable and tiresome in the many ways they torture our attention and patience. Among a stupefying political infamy, a perturbing suicide, a devastating flood, a continuing economic crisis and a horrid terrorist attack, there seems to be no limit on the road to Apocalypse.

Soul equilibrium can be reestablished only with a view “from above”. All things old are new again. We lived through a televised revolution, when top figures were replaced and international alliances were reconsidered, in December 1989, just like our parents witnessed a radio-broadcast coup d’Etat in August 1944: “stay tuned to your radio, an important declaration for our country will be broadcast shortly”. Currently, we are experiencing a recession probably as severe as the one our grandparents had to endure during 1929-1933, showing the same symptoms: stable institutions become volatile, salary funds are washed away, image stunts hide character failures, friendships turn into foeships.

The only difference resides in the speed of events. Currently, throughout a single lifespan we are experiencing what three generations endured before us.
